Returning Big-Guns
Having chalked up their first win of the season Minty’s squad is starting to take shape for the upcoming Autumn term.
After injuries, suspensions, holidays and commitments come to an end it seems Kings AFC may have some competition on its hands...
Just this week there has been an additional goalkeeper added to the Kings AFC roster, to add to the cover and the competition for a place between the sticks. Former Charlton youth player Dan Newman, will be hoping to get involved when Sansom and Kirby are unavailable.
Jeff Dyer, one of Kings AFC’s big summer signings will be available for selection after this Saturday, once his suspension for an incident last season has expired. Dyer, a towering centre half was the former captain of Meppershall Jurassic and has been chomping at the bit to get involved with the Kings.
Having made his first appearance for the Kings against Shillington AFC, Josh Clements is also now going to be available to use his energy and spirit having finished his Saturday job. Clements made an exciting and goal scoring start to his Kings career last weekend.
Mark Loosemore, has also returned to Bedford having spent the summer in Cornwall and will be looking to reclaim the left back slot from last week’s man of the match, Luke Clements. Luke however, may have other ideas after a strong start to the campaign.
The surprise inclusion of the injured former manager Steve Wilson, last week was a huge bonus, Wilson took up a slightly unusual place in the centre of midfield despite his ankle injury which was expected to keep him out for several weeks.
Assistant manager Lee Morgan is also looking like he will make a quicker than expected recovery from his side injury. Rumours are rife at present that the reason he has been out for the past 2 weeks is that he got the injury by sneezing too hard...
Also, with the recent additions of Steve Pouncey and Chris Greene along with the shock return at training of Tendai Huntley the Kings squad is starting to have a new and exciting edge to it...
The moral of the article... get yourself to training to keep yourself in Minty’s thoughts.
