Betting Odds Announced

August 2006

Taken from the BEDFORDSHIRE FOOTBALL LEAGUE NEWSLETTER AUGUST 2006:

Division Three, Season 2006/7

Alongside Division One and Two, Division Three sees a very mixed  formation for the new season bringing together, three teams from last terms Associate Division One, eight teams from last terms Associate Division Two plus six newcomers.

Of the old guard one would expect to see Ickwell & Old Warden Reserves last seasons 7th place Associate Division One side plus Bedforshire Junior Trophy Winners, Caldecote A last terms Associate Division One runners-up and Wilshamstead Reserves who have twice claimed the Associate Division Two silver medals in the past four campaigns amongst the front runners for promotion to Division Two, where they are likely to be joined by newcomers Clifton, Henlow Reserves and Meltis Corinthians Reserves.

Of the other newcomers, it will be a case of trying to find their feet in their opening season with perhaps Kings AFC the more likely to finish above Putnoe United and Twinwoods Thistle Reserves, with them all realistically looking at a top half finish at the best in this their opening season.

If their is to be a real surprise team in this section, one would suggest it might well come from the trio of Stewartby Village, Oakley Reserves or Riseley Sports Reserves, as of the other teams one would expect to see mid-table finishes for Blue Chip, Flitwick Town Reserves and Sandy A, whilst once again it looks like a season of struggle for Lidlington United Reserves and Marsh Leys."
