1. Congratulations on your first Player of the Month award Danny, you seem to have now established yourself in the Kings side despite signing on late for the club, what brought about the change of heart to join Kings?
Well training for club while playing for Blumham brought me closer to the team and influence from Marcus and Scott made my decision easier, so I signed and now I’m good mates with the whole squad and love the way the team bonds together.
2. Do you have a favoured position?
Having played in about 6 for Kings this season I dunno really. I like playing anywhere, as long as I play at the end of the day, but don’t really enjoy playing left-back and or goal, but like I said if I’m playing every game I’m happy.
3. How does it feel being the youngest of the Kings group?
Don't really feel like anyfing different I just love playing football but sometimes Morgan tries to be funny. lol
4. How are your Sunday league team doing... and who would you say you enjoyed playing for the most?
Doing very well thanks, and I donno really who I enjoy playing for the most, kings and Brickhill play different types of football. Kings is more play football and Brickhill are very
physical team and I try to put both types in all my performances. So to be honest I couldn’t choose. But I reckon if kings got a bit more physical we could and should win the league easily.
5. How would you summarise Kings first season - a couple of decent cup games and 6th from 17 in the league - pleased?
I’m never pleased if we don’t win I hate losing and too come 6th instead off 1st will get me
down, but I don’t think it’s a poor finishing position as its our 1st season.
6. Without giving your vote away: Who do you think will be the main contenders for the player of the season award?
I think Marcus Tomlin will because the way he gets past players acting like there’s no one there. Adam Haywood as he never gives up and keeps tackling and passing to try and get the team back on track and never does anything stupid. Tendai also as he is very physical and can play some sik football. And Kewell has been outstanding lately as well with Scholes
also. And others. To be honest everyone is a candidate.
7. Any personal highlights from the year?
My 1st goal and when Scott scored against Flitwick was jokes. And Minty's misses haha. And also when either me and Marcus score we always seem to make up some celebration.
8. Which other players have you enjoyed playing with most this season?
Everyone because there’s not a bad player in the squad.
9. And finally, what are your plans for the summer and next season?
I’m going NOWHERE I’m staying at kings but my Sunday team will have finished so I’ll be joining a different Sunday team.
Manager’s comments:
Great stuff Danny. Every since you first starting training with us you have shown yourself as an excellent footballer. Despite actually signing on quite late, you worked hard to get into the team and have played so well that it's going to be very difficult for anyone to shift you. Your desire to win is excellent, and versatility to play in a number of positions has been a real benefit to the team. You always seem so comfortable on the ball and compete well physically with men twice your age and weight. I’m delighted to see your comments about signing on next year and look forward to you developing more as a footballer with Kings. Well done on your Player of the Month Award.
