JANUARY PLAYER OF THE MONTH INTERVIEW:

MARCUS TOMLIN

1. The season is coming to an end, any memorable moments?

I do have a memorable moment; it was the cup game against Wilshamstead and in the last minute Morgan played a through ball to me and I slotted it past the keeper which won us the match.

2. Which opposition have you most enjoyed playing against this season and why?

So far I have enjoyed playing against every side but the team I liked playing against the most was Oakley, it was a tough match with great football from both sides plus I loved beating my old club!

3. Who do you think will win the league?

There’s no doubt that Ickwell will win this league, unless Putnoe who are doing very well beat them and continue to win their games in hand then I can see them winning it.

4. This is your second player of the month award and you have the most MOTM awards, any hints on how you do it?

I just play with passion and pride, I love the game and just practice when I can that’s all there is to it

5. You've played on the right and left of midfield and up front any positions you would like to have tried this season?

I wouldn’t have wanted to play in any other position I love playing on the wing, it’s a great feeling once you have beaten a player and can set up a goal scoring chance

6. Who is the player you have most enjoyed playing with this season and why?

That would have to be Lee Morgan, a great guy on and off the pitch, I think me and lee link up really well and we always have an understanding about each other. Lee is the person I can talk to about the game and he gives really good advice

7. Any preference for whose team you’re on for the battle of the titans and why?

I would actually like to ref this games as I feel I can do a good job, I don’t think the last ref was tough enough with his decisions

8. What are your plans for the rest of the season?

My plans for the rest of the season is to keep focussed on my play and how everyone else is playing and just to enjoy my football

9. Will you be signing on for next season?

This all depends on how much Sylvain is going to pay me each game! I don’t have any plans on moving clubs so yes I will be staying with the kings.

In days where I consistently have to change the team, shift people around bring people in to cover for absentees, the affectionately known; Mr Tumnus has been the Kings only ever present starter this season. Always first to training, Marcus is a pleasure to have around. Jumps higher than any other player around him despite his ‘limited’ height, and has a fierce bite in the tackle, not only that but Tmlino has also weighed in with some quality goals this season, and is challenging for the Top Goal scorer award. Well done buddy. I’m delighted that your continued high standards are being recognised.
